Lala Kent expressed disappointment in Scheana Shay on the latest episode of her recently rebranded podcast.
As Scheana, 40, continues to call out her former Vanderpump Rules co-stars for their lack of support for her book, My Good Side, which was released in July, Lala, 35, shaded her for focusing on an Instagram post, rather than their private times together, and encouraged her to self-reflect.
“Scheana and I are in a very strange place.. There was a shift, where I kind of went, ‘Errkk. I don’t know about this,’” Lala explained on the September 29 episode of Untraditionally Lala. “I love her. She’s like family. [But] I am very disappointed on how she has gone about certain things.”
Acknowledging that she and Scheana were not in a “good place,” Lala recalled Scheana saying that her ex-co-stars’ failure to share public posts about her book “put friendships into perspective.”
“She didn’t talk about the times that I’ve sat in a car and cried with her about the situations that she wrote in her book. She didn’t talk about the message that I sent to her about how f*cking proud I am of her that she wrote this book, put her heart out there, and made it to the New York Times Bestseller List,” Lala noted. “Because none of that was public, it’s not good enough for her.”
Looking back on the past couple of years, Lala said that she’d done a lot of soul searching and owning her part in certain situations before admitting she wanted to “shake” Scheana at times.
“I want to shake her because it’s like you have a husband who’s absolutely wonderful. He may not have done wonderful things, but he has made massive changes for you, and that’s a beautiful thing. You chose to stick with him. That is absolutely incredible and wonderful. You have a beautiful, healthy little girl, you’ve got both your parents, your sister’s cool as f*ck, what are you so mad about all the time? Your book hit the biggest f*cking list that a book can possibly hit. You’ve got a fantastic podcast. Why do you continue to try to scrape at the bottom of the barrel to find the sh*t?” she ranted.
“I want her to take a moment to self-reflect and figure out what makes her tick and what keeps her happy — genuinely happy,” Lala added.
Continuing on, Lala pointed out that there was gonna be a day when no television show existed, their podcasts were over, and no one cared about Instagram.
“What do you want when it’s all over? How do you want your life to be?” Lala asked.
While Lala admitted that she’d messed up in the past, she questioned why Scheana felt the need to put a spotlight on her missteps.
“I have f*cked up in the past. So have you. The difference is I don’t point out every f*ck-up that you have because it’s not worth it, cuz I know you’re a good person. You should know I’m a good person,” she stated. “We should’ve duked this out behind the scenes, and my friendship to you should not be based on if I posted your book in the proper timeline.”
In closing, Lala confirmed that although she did post about Scheana’s book, she didn’t “post it in the proper timeline,” according to Scheana.
