Scheana Shay addressed swirling rumors about The Valley and The Real Housewives of Orange County on her podcast on Friday.
As she welcomed longtime Bravo producer Alex Baskin to her show, the 40-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum revealed she would not be seen on The Valley season three, insisted she was offered a role, and denied Tamra Judge‘s suggestion that her dream was to be cast on RHOC as she also shared if she has FOMO and admitted to wanting to “squash the beef” with Katie Maloney, 38.
“For anyone hoping that I would be joining the cast [of The Valley], I am sorry to disappoint you this season. And for those of you who were very vocal about not wanting me to join the show, don’t worry. I’m sure I will find some other way to disappoint you. So stay tuned,” Scheana told listeners on the October 3 episode of Scheananigans, confirming, “I have not signed on for season three of The Valley.”
According to Alex, he and his team “definitely had serious conversations about [Scheana] being a part of the cast” and made a “compelling offer.”
“It was a great offer,” Scheana agreed.
As for the suggestion that Lala Kent, 35, replaced Scheana on The Valley, Alex said the report was “not true at all.” He then denied that Scheana was put on pause because Bravo was mad about her book and confirmed she’d never shared interest in a role on RHOC.
“You have not expressed that to me,” Alex stated.
While Scheana insisted that being cast on RHOC was “not [her] dream,” adding that the women “scare” her, she noted that she wasn’t exactly opposed to the idea.
“I’m never gonna say I would never do that. I have no idea what the future holds,” she teased.
As for why Tamra, 58, would suggest she was trying to nab a role on RHOC, Scheana recalled a conversation they had at an Upfront presentation.
“I was telling Tamra how much I loved living in San Diego and that we were thinking about when we were in Marina, moving to Orange County because of the schools and whatnot. But I said, ‘You know, work is in L.A.,’ and she goes, ‘Well, you should just be on our show,’” she explained. “I’m like, ‘You said that. I never said that.’ If there was a joke made, it was probably sarcasm from [Brock Davies], like, ‘Oh yeah, that’s her dream,’ which I don’t even think he said.”
When Alex then asked her if she was having any FOMO amid production on The Valley season three, Scheana admitted that while the cast’s girls’ nights were something she could do “whenever,” she was bothered by the group being in San Diego.
“San Diego was a kick in the d*ck if I had one,” she stated. “Seeing that, knowing that a reason I was told I got demoted season 10 was because I said on a podcast, ‘I live in San Diego but I work in L.A.,’ and then to see y’all filming, literally filming across the street from where I used to live, the restaurant I used to go to, I was like, ‘Well that kind of sucks because I wanted to film down here.’”
Also on the podcast, Scheana was asked who she was more likely to squash beef with, between Tamra and Katie.
“I might say, Katie. But I don’t know. She had some choice words about me on her podcast recently. But I do think if I were to squash the beef, the one I’d want to squash it with would be Katie,” she replied. “Tamra, she’s a scary one. I’m fine keeping her at a distance now.”
