Brittany Cartwright confirmed her split from Brandon Hanson on Friday’s episode of her podcast. And days later, an insider spoke out, shedding more light on why the relationship ended.
As the 36-year-old star of The Valley addressed fans on social media, explaining what she meant when she said she had her “tubes removed” after her recent mommy makeover, a source explained why Brittany and Brandon’s romance lasted just a couple of months after they went public.
“The distance and obligations were too much for her, and she didn’t see it going anywhere long-term,” a source told Us Weekly on October 14. “Brittany is really proud of herself for showing growth and knowing when things are done instead of trying to stick around and be unhappy.”
“[She] is focusing on her and Cruz’s happiness right now,” the insider added.
As fans may have heard, Brittany first spoke of the split on the October 10 episode of When Reality Hits.
“I’m single,” she declared. “We actually did not last. We were very good friends before we started dating. It was kind of like a whirlwind relationship. It went into the public way sooner than we ever would have wanted it to.”
“We still care a lot about each other,” she continued. “It ended amicably, but I just could not do the long distance, and he’s got a lot of obligations with his three kids and jobs, and we lived three hours away, so it was just too tough to keep it going. We really cared about each other. Hopefully, we can remain friends, but it’s just something I didn’t see that was going to be able to continue in the future.”
Brittany also said that she still had “a lot of healing to do” and “a lot of learning to do” as she confirmed she wished Brandon the “best.”
After the couple went public in August, a source told Us Weekly that Brittany and Brandon had a lot in common and “bonded over their divorces,” with Brittany filing for divorce from Jax Taylor, 46, in August 2024, and Brandon separating from his wife, Jasina Stanko, earlier this year.
In other Brittany Cartwright news, she clarified her comment about having her “tubes removed” in an Instagram Story after offering an update on her recovery from surgery.
“I’m obviously talking about my drains (tubes) I’ve been calling them tubes because that’s what they looked like lol. I still have my fallopian tubes (to clear up from DMs I have received),” she wrote.
The Valley season three is currently in production and expected to premiere on Bravo sometime early next year.
