The Bachelor‘s Rachael Kirkconnell recently opened up about her breakup from Matt James and revealed that it’s been years since she’s been sexually active. Of course, this made headlines because they were together for quite some time. Now, the reality star is clarifying her comments to reveal precisely how long it’s been.
Rachael and Matt met on season 25 of The Bachelor in 2020. The two developed quite a connection over the course of the show, and he gave her his final rose. Sadly, they broke up in early 2025.
Rachael appeared on the Extra Dirty podcast in October 2025 and discussed her sex life. The former Bachelor star said, “I feel like a virgin again. Okay. I don’t think that we’ve, like, discussed guys. I haven’t had sex way longer than you think. I’ll just put it this way. It’s been years. Years. It has been so long.”
“And that’s why I’m saying, like, I feel like a virgin again, to where I don’t want to just give it up to anyone,” Rachael added. “It’s almost like I can’t just like hook up with someone random at this point because it’s been so long that like I want it to be incredible.”
Of course, people were surprised by the revelation because she had been in a relationship with Matt since 2021. One person commented on a TikTok video that reported her comments and said, “YEARS.” Rachael then responded, “Over 3 Sis lol.”
Rachael previously opened up about Matt posting about them breaking up on Instagram without her knowledge on the Call Her Daddy podcast. She said, “It almost seemed like [him] saying it like a prayer was the easier way to say it than to say something real, something authentic to our actual relationship.”
She continued, “It’s very him. I guess it didn’t surprise me that he said it like that, I guess I was just surprised that he said it at all. That he posted that.”
