Meredith Marks appeared on Tuesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, where she reacted to Lisa Barlow‘s candid comments about her marriage troubles with husband John.
While also commenting on the identity theft and fraud rumors about Bronwyn Newport, 40, addressing the tiff between Mary Cosby, 53, and Angie Katsanevas, 51, and accusing the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast of “reactive abuse,” Meredith, 53, weighed in on Lisa’s comments about Whitney Rose‘s failed business and spoke of Brooks Marks‘ friendships on Next Gen NYC.
“That’s hard to do. I’ve done it over and over again, and it’s very tough to do because you’re taking things that are very personal and very private. There’s really not much that’s more private and personal than your marriage, and putting it on display for everybody to poke out and hopefully support,” Meredith said of Lisa’s candidness about her marriage on the October 21 episode of WWHL.
According to Meredith, she found Lisa’s issues to be “relatable.”
“I understand what she’s saying. I’ve stood in those shoes. It’s tough. It’s a lot of pressure. I think women, as a whole, there’s a lot of confusion over like, roles for women now, and it can be a lot of pressure,” she explained.
As for the rumors regarding Bronwyn’s alleged identity theft and fraud, Meredith said they came as a “shock” and led to “a little bit of fear.”
“You don’t really know what that means. And you don’t know the backside of it,” she noted.
Regarding Todd Bradley encouraging his wife not to go on the cast trip, Meredith said she didn’t disagree with his feeling that she shouldn’t partake.
“It is kind of a dangerous space to go with that stuff looming and undefined,” she reasoned.
During Tuesday’s RHOSLC, Mary became emotional over her discord with Angie. And as she looked back on the moment, Meredith admitted she wasn’t surprised.
“I think Mary was really emotional at that lunch. Of course, you saw her leave, but that took a moment. She was very upset. And no, I was not surprised she was that upset,” she explained.
Then, when Andy Cohen, 57, said that Lisa, 50, had been unable to hear Heather Gay, 51, saying that she took part of the responsibility in her dispute with Angie, Meredith signaled “reactive abuse.”
“There’s a couple things that are continual patterns in our group, one of which is reactive abuse, and that’s holding the person more responsible for the reaction to somebody else’s bad behavior than the original behavior. And this happens very regularly,” she shared. “You’ll see it happen to me. So while I can’t say that the things Lisa said were right, we also have to give accountability for what put her into the place that — I mean, she’s responsible for her actions, but so are the others who prompt those actions.”
Also on the live broadcast, after saying that she wouldn’t reveal which Next Gen NYC cast member should be a better friend to Brooks, 26, because she “[loves] them,” Meredith admitted that she may not feel that way if someone were to “really come for him.” She then addressed Lisa’s decision to mention Whitney’s failed business and what she learned about it on TikTok during a luncheon.
“Again, we’re talking about this reactive abuse. Can I defend it? No. But do I understand it? Yes. What’s good for the goose should be good for the gander,” she noted.
Later, while appearing on the WWHL: After Show, Meredith was asked if there were any moments this season that she looked back on and felt she should have engaged more than she did.
“I’m definitely engaged this season, particularly from here on out, you’ll see quite a bit more,” she teased.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season six airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
