Chrishell Stause opened up about her drama with Emma Hernan‘s boyfriend, Blake Davis, and her decision to end their friendship during an interview on Friday.
As she also reflected on the comment Nicole Young, 39, made about her parents, looked back on her drama with Bre Tiesi, 34, and spoke of her season nine regrets, the 44-year-old Selling Sunset star hinted that she did not want to be part of a potential 10th season, teased the upcoming reunion, and more.
“Although you do eventually get some context while watching the show, a lot of it is left out,” Chrishell said of her issues with Blake during an interview with Variety on October 31. “When I met him, there were so many red flags … I found real things to be dangerous with his personality. He recently posted about how he was going to sue my d*ck off. This isn’t a normal person. Anybody who meets this man is not going to want their friend to date him.”
According to Chrishell, Blake acted differently when cameras weren’t rolling as she alleges he would often say “extremely problematic things.”
“It was upsetting … He compared people being nonbinary to mental illness,” she alleged, signaling G Flip, 32. “That’s my partner, whom I love dearly. It goes so much more than what you’re able to see on a show that they’re trying as hard as they can to keep it light and upbeat.”
While Chrishell expressed her concerns to Emma, Emma ultimately chose to stay in the relationship, which she found “frustrating.”
“I tried to have a lot of sympathy for her and be there for her. I tried to do all the things as a friend. She would call and tell me how scared she was of this, or when they would break up, she would tell me the worst things that he would do. Like any friend, I’m there for her and helped her through it. Then she goes right back to him,” she explained. “At this point, they deserve each other.”
After trying to intervene, Chrishell said her and Emma’s friendship will never be the same.
“Never. I don’t want to be friends with her anymore. She’s made it very clear what her morals are, and we do not align,” she stated.
As for Nicole bringing up her parents at Amanza Smith’s Girlsgiving by suggesting Chrishell was “obsessed with drugs,” seemingly in a nod to their past addiction struggles, Chrishell said he was “a little stunned.”
“I can’t think of a situation in which that would be OK,” she noted. “That’s a topic that seems off-limits. She brings out the worst in me. Whoever can sink to bring up someone’s deceased parents, it’s pretty unforgivable.”
After Nicole was fired from the show, it was reported that she’d moved to Nashville. However, in recent posts, she seemed to be in Los Angeles and still working at The Oppenheim Group.
“I haven’t seen her. I don’t know, to be honest with you,” Chrishell said of her castmate’s whereabouts.
Explaining why she returned to Selling Sunset after suggesting she wouldn’t work on a show with Nicole again after season eight, Chrishell confirmed she was “incentivized.”
“I was giving it a fair shot … I agreed to a dinner, and then the dinner went the way that it did. So I ended up not having to film with her again. That was the only time,” she revealed.
As for her drama with Bre, who she accused of promoting MAGA jewelry and making controversial statements about G Flip, Chrishell said she understood why certain topics weren’t covered on the show.
“The slurs and making fun of someone who’s the most important person in my life were surprising,” she shared. “[But] there was a lot of fear of it going into a storyline of racism or homophobia. These are heavy topics in a time when people just want to watch the show and be entertained.”
Regarding her season nine regrets, Chrishelle wished she hadn’t let Bre take control of the narrative.
“It would have been nice if I had been able to speak from a place of truth, receipts and things that are already in public knowledge that you can find on the internet. It would have been nice if I had that wherewithal to have a conversation with her because we had not been able to have one all season. I wish that I had had that. Instead, I was so withdrawn at that moment that she got to say the narrative she wanted to say. If I had it all to do over again, I would not have rolled over on that topic,” she revealed.
Then, after describing the reunion as “so brutal,” Chrishell said she realized at the taping that she was “done.”
“I wish everyone the best, but this isn’t the place for me. It felt a little bit like a dog pile,” she explained. “I don’t know when they will start filming. I hope they never tell me.”
Selling Sunset season nine is currently streaming on Netflix.
