Comedian Kathy Griffin has been open about her less-than-positive opinions of Andy Cohen in the years following the end of their friendship and professional ties. Now, she’s opening up about where they stand today, his status with Bravo, and what, in a nutshell, went wrong with their relationship.
As many will recall, Kathy starred in Bravo’s My Life on the D-List for six seasons, beginning in 2005. Several of her comedy specials also aired on the network. Kathy’s drama with Andy began in 2017 after he replaced her as co-host of CNN’s New Year’s Eve special. She has since accused him of several indiscretions, including offering her drugs before Watch What Happens Live appearances.
Kathy recently appeared on Dear Media’s Good Guys podcast, hosted by Josh Peck and Ben Soffer. While on the episode, they asked her about Andy.
“Look, he won. He won the game of life,” Kathy said. “He’s the executive there. He’s probably why I’m not there anymore. He decides who the Housewives are and who they’re not. He’s got a nightly show.”
The beloved comedian then began discussing their issues. She explained, “He was a difficult boss. When I was doing my life on the D-list, I think that my part of it was I was too direct, and I think I thought I could talk like the guys that I work with talk.”
Kathy went on to explain that guys in her industry are “no bullsh**” when it comes to receiving notes or suggestions for changes on their shows from the network.
For context, Kathy has stated in the past that, toward the end of My Life on the D-List, the network wanted to make it into a hybrid between a scripted series and a reality show. This is something she railed against, and Bravo ultimately canceled the show in 2011.
She continued, “If I could do it again, I probably, and this is terrible advice. I’m like ashamed. I’m being a bad feminist right now — I would probably have been kinder and gentler with Andy.”

Josh then asked about them potentially “coming together” now. “He’s been pretty tough on me publicly. I don’t think he’s wired that way. To, like, figure out a way to kind of bury it and come together,” Kathy responded.
