Meredith Marks and Lisa Barlow are speaking out after facing backlash due to their treatment and alleged bullying of Britani Bateman.
Following Tuesday night’s new episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, during which Meredith, 53, was accused of being “out of her mind” on the plane ride home from their yachting adventure and taunting Britani, 54, by ranting loudly about her in first class, she and Lisa, 50, took to their X pages, where they spoke about the show.
“Once a liar always a liar,” Meredith wrote on X on November 11, immediately prompting fans to weigh in.
Following the sharing of her tweet, fans said they were “disappointed in Meredith” and wondered why she didn’t hold Lisa as accountable for her lies. They also called out her “bullying.”
“I thought of all of the ladies you would [recognize] how bullying is not ok. [Britani] didn’t deserve it at all. From the assault with having drinks and objects [thrown] at her by you to [terrorizing] her on the flight home,” one person wrote.
“Girl for someone who claims [they’re] an ‘advocate’ you sure love to bully Britani … a lot,” another agreed.
Then, after someone else called out Britani for prompting the drama by implying that Meredith’s husband, Seth Marks, was having an affair, another social media user said that while Britani may have been wrong, Meredith “went overboard.”
“You went overboard. Not only touching her belongings but bullying her on the plane. You’re lucky Brit is soft. Stop mixing meds and liquor,” they wrote.
Meanwhile, on her own page, Lisa, who took Meredith’s side in her spat with Britani and seemingly egged her on, criticized someone for “trying to change [her] reality.”
“No, you’re trying to change my reality. Go back to sleep,” she shared.
And when a fan said that if it had happened, “someone would have pulled out [a] phone to record, especially production who [Heather Gay] said was also in 1st class,” she agreed.
“Exactly,” she replied.
Someone else asked Lisa, “WHY ARE YOU STILL LYING??!” They added, “You literally just admitted Meredith was out of control.”
“No, I said she was really upset more upset than I’ve ever seen her that does not mean out of control,” Lisa clarified.
Britani reacted to the episode as well, sharing a post from a fan on Instagram.
“These two middle-aged women are surely old enough — and self-declared ‘smart’ enough — to know bullying is NOT cool. What I am seeing on [RHOSLC] tonight about how these two ALLEGEDLY treated [Britani Bateman]? DISGUSTING. SHAME on both of them,” the person had written, along with additional messages, including, “Mean isn’t pretty,” and, “PS Meredith, I think you doth protest too much.”
