Melissa Gorga is facing backlash after sharing complaints about a canceled flight from Aruba, where she and her family were celebrating the New Year.
After the 46-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey star and her family, including husband Joe Gorga, 51, and their three kids, became stranded following the U.S.’s attack on Venezuela, which saw the capture of former president Nicolás Maduro, and his wife, Cilia Flores, Melissa took to Threads, where she voiced, and later deleted, her frustration.
“wtf is going on!!!” Melissa wrote in one of her since-deleted messages, via a January 4 post on Reddit.
Right away, fans suggested Melissa was being dealt with karma after allegedly voting for President Donald Trump, 79.
“You voted for this,” one person stated.
“Well, everyone who voted for the child r@pist is getting what they voted for,” said another.
“Wait, girl….the comments are saying,” wrote a third.
In another since-deleted post, Melissa wrote, “Stranded- flight canceled with no rebooking options for weeks?” She then tagged United Airlines.
“You voted for this, remember? Enjoy your extended vacation. Why are you tagging United? YOUR president closed air space,” someone replied.
“Your president also took away the safety nets that would have allowed you to be compensated for your cancelled flight,” another added.
Also on Reddit, fans called for more people to get “exactly what they ask for in 2026.”
“Literally 4 days in and this is the kind of karma we love to see. More of this please universe,” someone said.
Another person slammed Melissa’s “entitlement” as others mocked the reality star.
“‘Stranded’ in Aruba… poor baby,” a commenter shared.
Someone else suggested Melissa was in the dark about the unrest in Venezuela.
“Perhaps she is not aware that the United States has overthrown the sitting president of another country, which happens to be a stone’s throw from Aruba. I wouldn’t be surprised,” they noted.
Another Reddit user suspected Melissa was “wishing she didn’t spend so much” on Antonia’s Christmas haul, which featured 114 gifts worth over $10,000.
While in Aruba, Melissa shared a slideshow of photos of herself and her family on Instagram.
“Spending these 7 days together is my favorite week of the year … Happy 2026 to everyone … Love harder, work harder, be kinder, forgive more and let’s make it a good one- from my family to yours,” she declared.
