Katie Ginella confirmed whether Emily Simpson would be returning to The Real Housewives of Orange County for season 20 in a TikTok comment over the weekend.
After sharing a video of herself and her eight-year-old son, Bandon, whom she shares with husband Matt Ginella, celebrating her departure from the series after just two seasons, Katie, 41, reacted to a question from a fan, who wondered if they would be seeing more of Emily, 49, on the show.
“So I just told Bandon that Mommy is not going to be a housewife anymore, and he was sweet about it. He was like, ‘Mom, maybe this is better. You don’t have to see Emily ever again.’ He’s trying to cheer me up. So he said, ‘Mommy, we should be celebrating. This is great,’” Kate revealed in her TikTok clip, which included a caption that read, “Celebratory [Taco Bell].”
Then, as she showed off a bag of Taco Bell, Bandon replied, “That’s how we’re celebrating.”

Following the sharing of the video, Katie was asked, “[Q]uestion is.. do we still have to see Emily[?]”
“You do!! Have fun!!” she confirmed.

After seeing the news of Emily’s return, a number of people expressed disappointment, saying, “KATIE RU KIDDING ME?” and “NOOOOO.”
“Noooo … take her with you,” one person begged.
Another said they were “no longer watching” as a third agreed.
“We just won’t watch it … problem solved,” they stated.
As RHOC fans may have seen, Katie confirmed she was fired on Friday with a statement on Instagram.
“After two seasons as a cast member on RHOC, the network has decided to move forward with Season 20 without me. While disappointing, it’s not entirely surprising after seeing how Season 19 played out,” she wrote. “I’m incredibly grateful for the love and support I received — it was seen, felt, and deeply appreciated. Representation matters, and I’m proud to have shown up authentically, even when it wasn’t easy. This chapter may be closing, but my voice and my story don’t end there.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 20 is expected to go into production sometime early this year.
