Marysol Patton used an AI creation of her late mother, Elsa Patton, to promote her new line of caviar on Tuesday, and fans weren’t happy about it.
After the 59-year-old Real Housewives of Miami star posted the video advertisement for Elsa Caviar with the slogan, “I need money. I love money,” on her Instagram page, she met with claims of being “weird and gross” as several of her Bravo castmates offered their support.
“My mother, Elsa, always believed life should be lived beautifully — and never cheaply,” Marysol declared in her January 20 post. “Before she passed, she shared her love for the finest things… including exceptional caviar.”
“Today, I’m honored to introduce Mama Elsa Caviar — created to reflect her style and elegance, and her unapologetic love of luxury,” she continued. “This isn’t just caviar. It’s legacy. It’s celebration. It’s Mama Elsa saying, ‘Darling… you deserve the best.’”
In her accompanying video, Elsa, dressed in an all-gold outfit and a pearl necklace, was seen with a jar of Elsa Caviar.
“I didn’t come to this country to have bad caviar. This is not just caviar. This is a lifestyle,” Elsa explains, describing the product as “smooth, bold, perfect, just like me” before adding, “I need money. I love money.”

In the comments section of the post, one person said, “Yeah [I’m] not comfortable with this at all,” and another wrote, “No way you thought this was a good idea….”
“Creating an AI ad of your dead mother to promote a caviar business is certainly.. a choice,” stated a third. “This is EXTREMELY weird Marysol.”
Others claimed the AI creation was “weird and gross” and didn’t “seem ethical at all.”
“Love her and love you, but this is creepy,” someone declared.
The video was also labeled “tacky” and “disturbing” by some, as another person defended the clip, saying it was a “beautiful tribute” to Elsa.
As for Marysol’s co-stars, Alexia Nepola, 58, said, “Mmmh…. Love this.” Stephanie Shojaee, 40, also wrote, “I love this!!!!?” Kiki Barth, 36, and Larsa Pippen, 51, commented with heart and fire emojis, respectively.
The Real Housewives of Miami season eight is expected to go into production sometime early this year.
