Salley Carson is putting the blame on Shep Rose when it comes to her role in the passing of a rumor about Craig Conover and Charley Manley.
After the latest episode of Southern Charm featured Salley, 31, claiming that she’d heard that Craig, 36, said he was afraid he was going to break Charley’s heart, Salley explained why she went to Charley, 28, with the comment as Charley and Venita Aspen, 32, wondered why she did so when she didn’t know for a fact it was true.
“I’m so confused by all of this because I was told this by Shep, and it made me mad for Charley, and if it’s not true, then honestly Shep can answer to it because he’s the one that f*cking started it,” Salley began on the February 4 episode of the Southern Charm: After Show.
According to Salley, she felt that she was having Charley’s back, and being a girls’ girl, by sharing the news with Charley.
“I’m like, this is f*cked up, and I think it’s probably going to look like I was trying to just create a gap between Charley and Craig. And I’m like that’s not what I’m doing but if he’s saying this about you, that’s f*cked. If someone was saying that about me, I’d want to know,” Salley, who pursued Craig before he took interest in Charley, explained.
Meanwhile, Shep, 45, described Salley as an “Agent of Chaos.”
“That’s Salley’s specialty. She comes to it without any context, nuance, anything, and magnifies it, amplifies it,” Shep claimed. “When I told her that Craig had said at the birthday dinner, ‘I don’t know about Charley, I don’t want to break her heart,’ which to me was funny, like downright hilarious, like, it was not nefarious. It was going from 0 to 100, and it was ridiculous, but it was textbook Craig, and I thought it was funny because I don’t think Craig thinks he’s a heartbreaker necessarily. So I told that to Salley. She turned it around as if he were acting like Warren Beatty or something, just a cocksman of the highest order.”
As for Craig, he clarified what he said.
“What I said was I need to be intentful with my actions because the last thing I want to do is get balls deep in this relationship and then realize that I don’t actually like her, and it was just like a crush or a rebound, and then all the sudden you have to hurt them, and that was the conversation,” he shared.
Also on the Southern Charm: After Show, after Salley acknowledged that Shep could have heard Craig wrong, Charley admitted that hearing what Salley had to say put a damper on her blossoming romance with Craig.
“Anytime that I am excited to talk about it or share it, it’s always brought, like, by Salley with something negative, and of course, that’s gonna put a damper on my mood,” she noted. “Like, I was excited to see Craig at scratchy a**, but hearing that in the car, I’m not going to be like, jumping out of the car to like run and see him. Walls are going up.”
“You can mishear things. I just don’t know why you would tell someone something that intense if you didn’t know for sure it was said,” she continued as Venita suggested that Salley was acting out of jealousy.
“Cuz she liked him. Sorry,” Venita proclaimed.
Charley then shared that Salley seemed “adamant” in saying something she knew would drive a wedge between her and Craig and ultimately end whatever was brewing between them.
“I’m not going to be with someone that feels that way. I would never talk to that person again. I wouldn’t, and I think that Salley knows that about me … I wish that it wasn’t brought up in the first place if it wasn’t fact,” she explained.
Southern Charm season 11 airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
