Jill Zarin is reportedly a “total mess” after being fired from E!’s The Golden Life earlier this week due to her racist rant against Bad Bunny‘s performance at Sunday’s Super Bowl Halftime show.
As the co-hosts of The View, including Whoopi Goldberg, 70, Ana Navarro, 54, and Sunny Hostin, 57, reacted to her exit from the upcoming show, and the statement she offered after the firing, an insider alleged that the 62-year-old Real Housewives of New York City alum was showing no remorse and taking “no accountability” for the comments she made.
“[Jill’s] a total mess … She’s angry she got fired,” an insider told Radar Online on February 12. “She doesn’t understand how she could get fired … She has no remorse.”
Instead of being apologetic for the offensive statements she made about Bad Bunny’s show, Jill has reportedly been “gaslighting.”
“She’s blaming the response to her comments instead of reflecting and taking accountability for them,” the source explained. “She’s not looking within and realizing she did something wrong.”
As for The View, Whoopi brought up Jill’s firing, noting that it came after the “racist rant she posted and deleted.”
“To this has-been housewife, washed-up lady, I say to her, we don’t care. I don’t care,” Ana replied. “Here’s the thing: There’s literally nothing they can do at this point to take away our joy and our pride and the happiness.”
According to Ana, Bad Bunny’s performance was like a “hug” for the Latin community, and something that Jill was “not going to take [away].”
Sunny then pointed to someone who had allegedly defended Jill’s rant.
“[What’s] slightly disturbing to me, though, was Jill Zarin said that it was just terrible because it was in Spanish and nobody white was on … But one of her friends is sticking up for her, saying, ‘What’s the big deal? Half the country feels that way.’ And that was really disturbing to me because I’m like, ‘So, half the country is racist?’” she asked. “How can someone defend it by saying, ‘So many people thought that it was racist?’”
Ana then said, “I want to stop talking about this lady. This lady hasn’t been relevant in decades.”
