Salley Carson explained why she and some of her Southern Charm cast members feel that Craig Conover‘s on-camera behavior is “calculated” during an interview on Wednesday.

As she also shared why she’s so attracted to Austen Kroll, 38, revealed why they haven’t given dating a shot, and confirmed they did more than kiss, Salley, 31, suggested that Craig, 36, has been inauthentic in his relationship with his co-stars and reacted to the idea that he led her on.

“I adore Craig, and like, I love the friendship that we have, but like, he comes around more so when like, the reunion’s coming up or when we’re about to start filming. He starts to check in more, and everyone feels like he’s only doing it because cameras are about to come back up. And it’s like he’s trying to, like, trying to patch things up before the reunion or before the next season or before whatever it is,” Salley revealed during a February 25 interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“I don’t really like that because I would love to have a solid friendship with him throughout the year, and I think that is really the main issue,” she added.

As for being friendzoned by Craig after showing interest in him earlier in the season, Salley admitted that the vibes were “never romantic” between them.

“I would never call it ‘leading me on.’ No. But we did hang out a lot. He would FaceTime me. He would text me and all that stuff, so someone’s bound to catch feelings when all that’s going on, and you’re at his house late night and stuff, but I wouldn’t use the word ‘led on,’” she clarified.

Moving on to Austen, Salley said that she and Austen have grown close to one another because their personalities are similar.

“We have built a very strong friendship, and we just have very similar personalities. We’re kind of carefree and love to have fun,” she explained.

As for why she wouldn’t be thrilled if he were to date someone else, Salley said that she knew it would change their dynamic.

“I’ve had close guy friends, and then when they get a girlfriend or when I get a boyfriend, the relationship changes because you have to be respectful of your significant other,” she stated. “I do hang out with Austen a lot … [And] I feel like if he got a girlfriend, he wouldn’t be around as much.”

Regarding why they haven’t given an actual romance a chance, Salley suggested they weren’t willing to “mess up” the friendship that they have.

“I think we’re just really good friends right now,” she noted.

Also during the interview, Salley said that she and Austen shared more than a kiss.

“Yes. But you’ll hear about that at the reunion,” she teased.
