Erin Lichy is clapping back after being criticized and accused of promoting sexual coercion following an “Ask Me a Question” session with her fans and followers on Instagram last month.

As she took questions from her online audience, the 38-year-old Real Housewives of New York City star responded to someone who asked her for advice about being on different timelines regarding when to have kids with their husband, dealing out a controversial suggestion.

“This is prob not PC but just ‘forget’ to take your pill. Oopsie! Ok I mean if it’s a serious reason like he has to move for work or he has a health issue idk then fine but if he’s just stalling just have sexy time and make it happen lol humans been doing it for centuries,” Erin replied.

Shortly thereafter, Erin’s post was shared on Reddit, where the RHONY cast member, who shares four children with her husband Abraham “Abe” Lichy, including Levi, Elijah, Jack Hunter, and Layla, was called out for the response.

“PSA you do not need to answer all of your ask me anything posts like girl why expose you’re crazy like that,” one person wrote.

“She sounds so unintelligent,” another shared.

A third mentioned that Erin had blown a perfectly good opportunity to offer a better idea.

“I think she’s trying to be funny but it’s not,” they suspected. “Forcing a kid on someone who isn’t ready is not a good route.”

“Also….. it’s not PC because it’s not okay,” someone else added. “Like if a man pokes a hole in a condom to get you pregnant without your consent. Or when your husband took money without your consent and you ripped him a new one.”

Then, after another person called Erin’s statements “disturbing,” a different Reddit user suggested that her conniving idea was a form of sexual assault.

“This is sexual assault!” they declared. “If someone consents to protected sex but the other person has removed the protection- they haven’t consented to unprotected sex and it’s happening without their knowledge.”

As the backlash continued, Erin resurfaced on her Instagram Story with an additional video message.

“Guys, you need to lighten up. Like, a lot of you. Not all of you,” she complained, via The U.S. Sun. “Some of you are cracking up but a lot of you are sending me these crazy messages saying, like, ‘This is not reproductive for – this is, like, not right what you’re saying about, you know, somebody just getting pregnant.’ Like, I’m kidding. Like, I’m saying if your husband is like, just being late, like, slow about it, but you did want to have kids, move it along.”

“I mean calm down. You guys get so worked up. Relax,” she went on. “Just laugh. It was a joke. Is someone really going to read my question box and be like, ‘Oh, Erin said I should just screw my husband and get pregnant tomorrow so I’m going to just trick him because Erin said so.’ I mean, it’s like, if the guy wants to have a kid but can’t figure it out, just, you know, move it along. That’s what I meant. OK?”

Erin also shared a screenshot with another statement.

“Will explain to all. A girl asked me about a specific situation [with] her husband. I was kidding. There is never a ‘right’ time to have a baby. It’s always tough, and in this context it was playful. I am sorry if I offended anyone, not my intention and as a mom of [three] boys and a sister of [three] brothers, of course I don’t promote sexual coercion!” she insisted.

Meanwhile, in her screenshot, Erin included comments she shared with other fans in which she again said her response was a joke and suggested the entire situation had been taken “out of context” and “misconstrued.”
