Jeff Lewis received a warning from Andy Cohen after Jill Zarin‘s racist outburst about Bad Bunny‘s performance at last month’s Super Bowl Halftime Show.
After the 62-year-old Real Housewives of New York City alum was fired from her new E! show, The Golden Life, as a result of the rant, during which she complained about the lack of white people, Reza Farahan, 52, questioned Jeff, 55, who is known for his often-controversial banter, about whether he was concerned about what might slip out of his mouth.
“In light of what has happened to Jill Zarin, and both you and I can make some controversial statements, and we’re both back on TV again, are you ever afraid you’re gonna say something that’s gonna lead to a whomp-whomp? Are you more careful than you were before?” Reza asked Jeff on the March 4 episode of SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live.
“I think so, yeah, absolutely,” Jeff replied as his co-host, Shane Douglas, wondered, “When did that start?”
Then, reflecting on a coffee date he and Andy had last week, Jeff revealed that he had been dealt a warning from the Bravo executive.
“He was the one that was telling me, he was kind of like, a careful warning, when I’m on this show talking about Bravo. On this show,” he clarified of his radio show, confirming that the conversation was not in reference to his new series, Still Flipping Out.
“He’s not worried that I’m gonna go on a racist rant or anything like that. He just wants me to be careful about what I say about Bravo, like contracts, fines, money, you know, production,” Jeff added.
As the episode continued, Jeff admitted that he tends to be critical of production before explaining that his chatter about the network and its team was what Andy wanted him “to be more careful about.”
“So that message was received,” he stated.
