Craig Conover explained his comment about choosing Charley Manley over Paige DeSorbo while appearing on Wednesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.

As he also reflected on his decision to come clean about his kiss with Charley, 28, reacted to his drunken rant against Salley Carson, 31, and confirmed whether he watches Southern Charm, Craig, 36, was outed for making his assistant groom him while shading Kyle Cooke, 43, and discussing his tension with Austen Kroll, 38.

“That was at that time … not like, back in the day, but like, in that moment,” Craig clarified of his comment about wanting Charley more than his ex-girlfriend on the March 11 episode of WWHL.

Although Charley wanted to keep the early moments of her since-ended romance with Craig a secret, Craig decided to go public with their kiss in Mexico because he realized that their secrecy was “silly.”

“I was like, this is silly. What are we doing? We kissed,” he recalled.

Then, when questioned about his meltdown against Salley in the van, Craig said the ordeal reinforced the idea that he should never “get to that point.”

“I was well aware of how bad, I mean, I freaked out. It just shouldn’t have happened. Not fun,” he admitted.

Also on the live broadcast, after host Andy Cohen, 57, signaled to Craig’s assistant, Jack, who was serving as the night’s guest bartender, it was revealed that Jack watches Southern Charm for Craig since he doesn’t watch “that much.”

It was also noted that the weirdest thing Jack had to do for Craig was shave the back of his neck.

Later, on the WWHL: After Show, after admitting he wasn’t going to watch the reunion, since he needs to “focus on the present, getting better every day, [and] not yelling at Austen,” Craig reacted to Austen not telling him about his split from Audrey Pratt.

“I don’t think I was really in the right spot in his life to be telling stuff to, but as soon as it happened, I was the first one next to him at the bar in Mexico, and it was right back to normal,” he explained.

Then, after refusing to answer whether Paige or Charley was the better kisser and also declining to say three nice things about Kyle, Craig was questioned about whether Austen or Shep Rose, 45, was a better businessman.

“[They’re] very different businesses, and I guess right now, Austen,” he reasoned. “Shep is a good old person investor. Like, he invests like a grandparent would. He doesn’t spend his money, which is good.”

Southern Charm season 11 airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
