The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast was reportedly forced to sign a mega-clause as part of their contracts for season seven. And during a recent episode of Crystal Kung-Minkoff and Cynthia Bailey‘s shared podcast, the Real Housewives stars dished on the restrictions the cast now faces.

After it was noted that producers weren’t “f*cking around” in their efforts to regain control of the cast, and suggested that two of the women were holding out on agreeing to the terms, Crystal, 43, revealed that the ladies no longer get screeners of upcoming episodes, as she confirmed that they could be fired for talking to bloggers or leaking storylines.

“Did you hear about this new mega clause in their contract? I spilled the tea a few weeks ago … People tell me stuff, and then I say it on here. But I had said that cast, they don’t get the screeners,” Crystal shared with Cynthia, 59, on Humble Brag.

“Because they think that they leak to the bloggers, right? So they’re punishing them by not giving them because what happens is, if you act right, you get to see the show before it [airs],” Cynthia replied.

According to Crystal, the cast usually gets their screeners two days before the air date, so they can see what’s going on with the storylines.

“But Salt Lake City was banned this season from getting it, and furthermore, now, in this new part of their contract, I guess the girls that received contracts had this new mega-clause that tells them that if they are found to be talking to bloggers, leaking storylines, or whatever, they’ll get fired, immediately. And so they have to sign that,” she continued, signaling news of the season seven clause, which was first reported by the Real Housewives Zone on Instagram.

A voiceover then detailed what was described as a “Narrative Integrity Clause.”

“Basically, the cast are not allowed to create, influence, or leak storylines about the show or other cast members off-camera. This includes using third parties as a proxy. Any on-camera discussion about unverified activity will be cut from the final edit, and any verified activity is punishable on a scale that includes financial penalties, loss of screentime, demotion, and firing,” the voice explained.

Upon hearing the news of the restrictions the RHOSLC cast is now facing, Cynthia said, “That’s insane. I have been around a long time in this space, and that’s never come up on [The Real Housewives of Atlanta].”

“What is happening over there?” she added.
