Kristen Doute confirmed her status with fiancé Luke Broderick after a sneak peek at The Valley season three featured him discussing their intimacy issues.
Ahead of the show’s premiere next month, a preview clip showed Luke, 34, opening up to Jesse Lally, 45, about the lack of sex he and Kristen, 43, were having in the months that followed the arrival of their baby girl, Kaia Lily.
“Our relationship is completely lacking intimacy, so that’s tough,” Luke explained to his co-star, who pointed out that that was “to be expected.
“To some degree, I guess,” Luke agreed. “[But] it should be something that we should be able to talk about, and we haven’t really … She shuts down every advance. At what point do you stop trying?”
According to Jesse, who signaled his own experience, he’d rather have “hard conversations” than let frustration turn into resentment.
“I think my natural defense mechanism to frustrations or whatever is just like basically kind of turning off emotions,” Luke replied. “We’re gonna sweep everything under the rug until it turns into cement and we’ve got a permanent issue that we can’t get rid of.”
Elsewhere, during a chat with Nia Booko, 36, Kristen said that when it came to her post-partum struggles, Luke “gets it as well as he can get it.”
“But he’s like, ‘Can we try to have sex? Can we do this? You’re cleared for that.’ I also hate my body right now,” she explained. “He wants to have sex all the time, and he’s like, ‘Well, I love your body. I like that your boobs are bigger and I like that you have a butt.’ And I’m like, ‘That’s really nice but…’”
In a confessional, Kristen revealed that she and Luke “always had a really healthy sex life and were intimate pretty regularly before Kaia’s birth last summer.
“Now sex doesn’t exist,” she admitted.
“I just need time. Like, I’m attached to her. She’s attached to me,” she concluded to Nia.

After the sneak peek was shared on Instagram, Kristen took notice of a fan’s reaction to her and Luke’s revelations, which applauded them for speaking candidly about their hardships, and reshared it on her Story.
“This is something so many couples experience after a baby. I appreciate [Luke Broderick] and [Kristen Doute] for being brave enough to share their journey,” the fan had written.
Kristen also offered a reaction to a fan who asked, “Are they together now?”
“Yes,” she confirmed.
