Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kenya Moore has been in a back-and-forth legal dispute with her landlord over her hair salon.
On April 24, photos circulated online of the contents of the salon dumped on the curb outside the building. This led many to assume Moore had been kicked out or that she was upset by the ordeal.
An insider exclusively spoke to Reality Blurb to explain what’s going on.
“Nothing about the stuff inside the shop being put out on the street was at all surprising to Kenya,” the source detailed. “She had already moved out weeks ago.”
“As those who have been following the issue know, she and the landlord have gone back and forth for quite some time,” they continued. “His putting her stuff on the curb was nothing more than a PR stunt. Sure, it got some media traction, but did it bother Kenya? Not in the slightest. She actually got a chuckle from the absurdity of it and is happily continuing to move on in her life.”
The source explained that when the landlord put Kenya’s stuff on the curb, she was “in Japan with her daughter and niece enjoying a family vacation.”
“The landlord wanted her out so she didn’t have to pay the $80,000 and benefit from the additional 1,000 square feet she built as a second level,” they added, insisting the landlord “gained more by having Kenya leave than by having her stay.”
“She was basically just trying to embarrass Kenya since Kenya had countersued her,” they concluded. “Unfortunately for the landlord, it didn’t work.”
Kenya spoke out on social media about the ordeal and offered similar sentiments.
“I have spent the last several weeks moving out of my salon as a result of my ongoing legal battle with the landlord who has failed to reimburse me nearly $80K of improvement funds I am rightfully owed,” she shared. “My only recourse was to withhold rent and file a countersuit. I already have my outfit laid out for court chile!”

When Kenya was last on RHOA, she had drama with Brit Eady, which culminated in Kenya sharing alleged pictures of Brit performing a sexual act. This led to Kenya’s exit from the show.
Brit took the opportunity of Kenya’s salon belongings being on the curb to get in a dig at her, taping herself driving by.
“Never win when you play dirty,” Brit captioned the clip.
In February, TMZ obtained court documents detailing that Kenya’s hair salon was ordered to pay $80,000 in unpaid rent and utilities. Their legal issues remain ongoing.
