West Wilson’s cousin, Dakota Sweeney, was reportedly arrested and charged with the alleged murder of their step-grandmother, Gayle R. Wilson. Meanwhile, TMZ released the 911 dispatch audio after the cops were called.
On April 22, the evening before the Summer House reunion was filmed, law enforcement in Carroll County, Missouri, responded to the report that a shooting had taken place at a home, in which the 75-year-old was found dead.
In a probable cause statement, police officers stated that a witness claimed Dakota was sitting quietly in a room with Gayle for half an hour before he allegedly used a handgun to shoot her. The cops said the witness also stated that Dakota and Gayle had argued earlier that night over Dakota’s not helping with household chores. Officers said they found a holster on Dakota’s person after they took him into custody.
Dakota did not resist arrest, and he’s now facing a first-degree murder charge.
After Dakota was charged with the murder, TMZ obtained the 911 dispatch audio. Dispatchers can be heard explaining the 911 call. According to them, a caller claimed that someone possibly shot his mother-in-law.
“Possible shooting,” said the dispatcher. Another then expressed, “What we’re hearing is that a possible subject shot his mother-in-law.”
At one point, the officer seemed to ask the dispatcher a question they couldn’t answer.
“We do not know,” said the dispatcher. “We were on the phone with a third person who was not there, and he disconnected the call.”
West has not yet responded publicly to the news. Dakota’s mother, Kelly Sweeney, and West’s father, Bruce Wilson, are the stepchildren of Gayle.
In the past month, West has been surrounded by controversy over his relationship with castmate Amanda Batula. Castmates called him out on multiple occasions. After the taping, someone leaked audio of the argument, though Andy Cohen said it wasn’t a castmate.
