Dolores Catania suggested that her castmate Rulla Pontarelli got the “mistress virus” when she skipped the Real Housewives of Rhode Island cast trip – and Jo-Ellen Tiberi used the affair info as “power.” She also revealed how Rosie DiMare “save[d] Ashley’s a**,” and she addressed feeling “unsteady” as Real Housewives of New Jersey begins filming its new season.
In a recent episode of RHORI, Rulla said she couldn’t make the cast trip because she was horribly sick and could barely function. Some fans, however, believe she didn’t want to face the cast as Jo-Ellen brought up an alleged video of her husband kissing his mistress.
“In Rulla’s confessional, she says she had one of those viruses that they can’t pinpoint or categorize,” said Dolores on Two Ts in a Pod. “I would call it the mistress virus.”
“If Jo-Ellen did this and called me and shoved all this and told the whole f**king town and the whole city, yeah, I’d be mad,” she continued. “But I’d also be like, ‘Whatever your intentions were, thanks for bringing it to my attention.'”
Her cohost, Teddi Mellencamp, addressed how Jo-Ellen got alleged “proof” that Brian is still cheating.
“Listen, information is power,” said Dolores, seemingly suggesting that Jo-Ellen used the info to her advantage. “And what you do with it is on you.”
At one point in the episode, Dolores addressed how Ashley cried while sticking up for Rosie in the latest episode.
“Ashley gets emotional defending Rosie at this table,” she said. “She always gets emotional. At some point, Rosie [told her], ‘If you’re going to be my friend, like on the boat, and people come at me, you need to open your mouth.’ Now I see she saved Ashley’s a**. Because now Ashley is more vocal.”
Teddi thinks the show is “hard” for Ashley because she’s a good person.
“I know she’s a good person,” Dolores agreed. “I think that this show is going to make Ashley grow in certain ways. No one’s coming for Ashley in the history of this show. There’s no reason to come for this angel of a human. But I’d like to see if it was reciprocated.”
In an interview at Bravo upfront, Dolores was asked how she feels going into the new season – with cameras picking up tomorrow.
“We’re all the way back in,” said Dolores. “[We have] six new girls.”
When she was asked if she felt outnumbered – in an “old school versus new school” situation – Dolores’ foot slipped on her seat.
“That’s how I feel about it: unsteady,” she answered. “You can’t help but look at them and say, ‘Which one of you is going to … try to take one of us? [Or] who’s gonna try too hard?”
Dolores said the “husbands have met,” and smiled cryptically while hinting that they have “a lot of different personalities.”
