Dolores Catania hinted at the reason NBC allegedly put Real Housewives of New Jersey on pause – and she revealed the warning she gave to her friends on Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
After the last season of RHONJ, the show was put on pause for nearly two years. Recently, Bravo announced that the show was coming back with Dolores, Teresa Giudice, and her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga. Dolores has also appeared on the premiere season of RHORI, as she’s friends with many in the cast.
Speaking to Virtual Reali-Tea, Dolores hinted at why RHONJ was put on pause.
“People have learned their lesson, I would hope, with talking to outside influence, trolls, and things like that, and using outside influence to go after the Housewives on the cast,” said Dolores. “I think basically NBC was like, ‘All your fighting’s gone off camera. Why are we going to even bother with the reunion at this point?'”
Dolores said she gave a warning to her friends on Real Housewives of Rhode Island, concerning the idea of talking to ‘trolls.’
“I couldn’t stress to [the RHORI] girls enough: ‘Don’t do it. You will ruin your show. You have something so good here,'” she said. “I know these [girls] will never do that.”
A few weeks back on Turning the Tables, Teresa shared that she and Melissa made a pact about bloggers ( following their recent reconciliation).
“We both told each other, any bloggers out there that are saying anything negative — we’re both going to unfollow them,” Teresa stated at the time. “If anyone’s saying anything negative about my brother or Melissa, like, I’m unfollowing them. [And] vice versa.”
“Because … we are a [united] force,” she added. “We don’t want any negativity. And I think that’s the way we should be going forward.”
Around the same time on Casual Chaos, her sister-in-law, Melissa, addressed the two families’ reunion over the holidays.
“I feel like there was a little awkwardness. Not so much with Teresa and Louie and I and Joe. It was the girls,” she said of their respective daughters. “I think everyone was just feeling it out. And then as the night went on, everyone was like, oh no, this is normal. We’re all family.”
