Aesha Scott and Joe Bradley spoke out amid Nathan Gallagher’s domestic violence charges and his controversial fight with Joe in the latest episode of Below Deck Mediterranean.
Last month, news broke that Nathan was arrested in December for allegedly choking his then-girlfriend Gael Cameron, the mother of their child. A few weeks ago, he was convicted on multiple counts of domestic violence, though he failed to show up to court.
In the latest episode (filmed before the public learned of his arrest), Joe, who’s feuded with Nathan throughout the season, avoided Nathan and Gael on a night out. But in the van ride back, the three co-stars were forced to be in the same space. After Joe made a shady comment under his breath, Gael called him out and told him to respect Nathan. Nathan then got heated, and Joe asked, “Are you going to hit me?” Gael immediately told Nathan not to.
After the episode aired, some fans called out Gael for defending Nathan against Joe, who’s consistently implied that Nathan is aggressive.
In a September 23 Instagram post, Aesha publicly defended Gael.
“Can people please give Gael some GRACE!?” said Aesha, via Us Weekly. “That poor woman has been through hell and back the last two years, a hell most of you attacking her from your high horse at home have no real idea about. During this time she was being fed so many lies day after day, she didn’t really understand what was going on in so many different areas.”
“I will always stand by her side, because she is one of the most beautiful souls I have ever come across in my lifetime,” Aesha continued. “And yes, I know she went to Croatia and agreed to go onto a public forum where people watch and have opinions, but again, you all have no clue what steps led to that and followed that. Please be kind.”
On his own Instagram, Joe reposted Aesha’s message.
Joe’s repost indicates that he agrees with Aesha’s sentiment — that fans should give Gael a break, given what she’s been through.
