The Real Housewives of Rhode Island star Liz McGraw recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live.

While there, she was asked what point she was trying to make by insisting co-star Alicia Carmody was never homeless, even though Alicia said she was.

“From what I had ever known of Alicia and her family, they sold that house together, they renovated at the grandparents’ in one of the most high-end neighborhoods in Rhode Island, and all moved in together with the dad,” Liz shared.

She noted this was what she had come into the show knowing.

“And for everything I’ve ever known about Alicia, she was always, you know, had love around her, she was always clad in the best designers,” Liz continued. “So for me to hear the word homeless… it was a knee-jerk reaction.”

Liz insisted she was making an attempt to “prevent” Alicia from getting “any local backlash” from those who knew the facts.

“So like at the time, it would be like if you right now said to me in front of all these people, ‘Liz, I’ve been, you know, pretending all these years to be gay, but I’m really straight,'” she told host Andy Cohen. “I would have the same reaction. I would be like, ‘You are never straight!’ You know? That’s who I am.”

Liz reiterated it was a “knee-jerk reaction,” but it did not come “from a place of malice.”

“I didn’t know where she was going, I didn’t know how far she was going with it, and I never meant to downplay her feelings,” Liz added. “I always only wanted to protect Alicia.”

After Liz’s appearance, Alicia took to Instagram to comment, “I’m joining the conversation of my life story funny. I got to tell it. I think Liz needs to worry about her story and leave me and my family’s name out of her mouth now, it’s getting obsessive.”

“I never ever wanted to speak about it again after that dinner!” Liz fired back. “I still don’t! None of my business!”

She added that Andy “asked,” and she insisted she “wasn’t the one keeping it going 10 days after that night 🤷‍♀️”
