Liz McGraw addressed her “homeless” drama with Alicia Carmody on Sunday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
While also shading the “narratives” of Jo-Ellen Tiberi, 38, reacting to Kelsey Swanson‘s apology to Rosie DiMare, 35, and discussing the video of Brian Pontarelli, 49, and his mistress, Liz, 55, teased the Real Housewives of Rhode Island reunion and revealed where she stands with Alicia, 42, now.
“From what I’d ever known of Alicia and her family, they sold that house together, they renovated at the grandparents in one of the most high end neighborhoods in Rhode Island and all moved in together with the dad. So that’s what I came into that knowing and for everything I’ve ever known about Alicia, she was always, you know, had love around her. She was always clad in the best designers. So for me to hear the word homeless, it was a knee-jerk reaction,” Liz explained on the June 7 episode of WWHL.
According to Liz, she was trying to prevent Alicia from local backlash when she called her out.
“It was a knee jerk reaction, but it was not coming from a place of malice. I didn’t know how far she was going with it, and I never meant to downplay her feelings, certainly. I always only wanted to protect Alicia,” she insisted.
Looking back at the drama she faced with Alicia and Jo-Ellen at Rich DiMare‘s show, Liz signaled a build-up.
“You’re not seeing the full context of what took place days before that with these girls. We are just coming from different places. They wanted a row, and I wasn’t interested,” she stated. “I apologized the night of the castle, the next day, the day after. I apologized to her mom, who thanked me for saying she was never homeless, and then magically said she was insulted and disrespected, so I never meant to hurt her feelings.”
As for Alicia labeling her scary, Liz admitted, “It was a lot.”
“Sometimes people are performative, and they need to be. I know who I am and that’s all that matters,” she reasoned.
Then, after saying that she and Alicia are “pretty much” the same as they were during filming, Liz shaded Jo-Ellen’s “narratives” as she was asked why she didn’t agree they were close friends.
“It was just one of her several narratives she’s trying to go with,” she alleged.
Looking back at Kelsey’s apology to Rosie for their square footage battle, Liz said, “I think it was genuine. It never sounds it, but I think it was.”
She also said she didn’t think the video of Brian and his mistress was fabricated.
“Things can always be fabricated, but was it? Probably not,” she guessed.
Later, on the WWHL: After Show, Liz described the recently taped reunion and confirmed that Dolores Catania, 55, did not give her any tips.
“I felt like it was brutal, and it was wild. It was a long day,” she teased.
The Real Housewives of Rhode Island season one airs Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
