The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay received a not so warm reception at Bravo Fan Fest on Saturday.
While appearing on stage with Andy Cohen during a panel, Heather was asked about her now infamous black eye which she claimed was given to her by Jen Shah during a cast trip to San Diego a couple of seasons back.
However, Heather appeared to change her story during the Q&A session, now stating she’s no longer sure Jen was the one who hurt her.
“Andy help me out,” said Heather to Andy after she was asked about the black eye drama.
“I thought that you had said that Mrs. Shah was responsible,” Andy responded to Heather.
“[Jen] said, ‘Did I do that to you?’ The truth is Jen and I are gonna have to like figure it out, who did it to me at what time and what place,” said Heather to a resounding sound of boos.
“It was on a cast trip. We overdrank. I woke up. I had a black eye and instead of going to the hospital or going home, I stayed and filmed and had no idea what had happened or no idea how it was gonna resolve,” she added.
Heather continued, “I signed up for it years before, and I lived through it, and it was horrible. And I’m still here, and that’s all I have to say.”
Fans were stunned at Heather’s change of heart as she sounded confident when she blamed Jen for the black during a RHOSLC season 4 cast trip to Bermuda.
“@Bravotv @bravoandy please put @heathergay on a permanent pause. The viewers want it,” another person added.
“It was 5 years ago ffs how long is she going to drag this tired old storyline out for when she’s known all along what happened,” a third person noted.
“Suddenly we’re in short supply of receipts, proof, timeline, screenshots 🤔 that’s weird,” added a fourth person using Heather’s own iconic line against her.
Back on season 4, Heather claimed she had “covered” for Jen for three years and was scared of her. She recalled that during the trip, Jen had come into her room the next morning and asked if she had given Heather a black eye and Heather stated she had told her she’d cover for her. This season concluded in January 2024.
However, despite Jen being in prison at the time of Heather’s admission, she denied giving Heather the black eye through her representatives.
Even more, Jen tweeted last week that she might finally be ready to talk about Heather’s black eye incident.
Jen wrote on October 16, “Sooo… is it finally time to talk about the black eye? I’ve got a few things to clear up.”
For the moment, Jen has yet to respond to Heather changing her story.
