90 Day Fiancé star Thais Ramone was arrested last month on domestic battery charges.
More information was revealed yesterday, as the bodycam footage from the incident was released.
TMZ obtained the video, which involved her estranged husband, Patrick Mendes.
It shows officers going to Patrick’s home in Nevada on May 22 after he phoned in to report a domestic violence incident.
In a previously released police report, Patrick alleged that Thais had slapped him in the face after they got into an intense argument a few days after he served her with divorce papers. In the bodycam footage, Patrick says he went to her house so their child could say goodbye to Thais before she left for Brazil.
Officers are seen talking to Patrick and Thais separately in the video footage as they try to figure out what happened inside the home. Patrick tells the cops that Thais became upset about him being present in the home, and that’s when he alleges she hit him with an open hand.
TMZ previously reported that cops had documented there were visible marks on Patrick’s face that aligned with what he was saying. In the bodycam footage, Patrick shows video evidence of the alleged slap.
When Thais was seen speaking to the police, she said Patrick was “controlling” during their relationship. While she acknowledged the altercation, she insisted she was acting in self-defense.
The police ended up determining there was probable cause to arrest Thais for domestic battery, and they were seen in the footage informing her of the arrest before taking her into custody.
Kathleen Martinez, who is Thais’ immigration attorney, insisted Thais “has rights” and “those rights will be protected” in a press release issued yesterday.
“No one should ever be made to feel powerless because of their immigration status, and no one should be bullied into silence,” she continued. “My team and I will vigorously defend Thais’ interests and ensure she is treated fairly every step of the way.”
According to Us Weekly, Patrick has requested primary custody of their daughter, Aleesi, in their divorce. Thais is going to fight for custody of her daughter and has hired attorney Carmen Marisol to represent her.
“Based on the information currently available, we are confident that the evidence will demonstrate that Thais is a loving, capable, and devoted mother,” Carmen said. “We look forward to presenting the facts and ensuring her rights are fully protected throughout this process.”
Talent manager Dominique Enchinton, who works with Thais, also weighed in on the situation.
“Thais deserves the opportunity to live in peace, raise her child, and move forward with dignity,” she shared. “We have assembled an exceptional team committed to ensuring she has access to the strongest legal and professional support available as she navigates this chapter of her life. Our hope is for a peaceful resolution for all parties.”
Patrick and Thais’ divorce currently remains ongoing.
