When West’s relationship with Amanda went public, Kyle and his co-stars feared that the controversy would threaten the show (in the same way that Scandoval ultimately led to the firing of the entire Vanderpump Rules cast). But Kyle, Amanda, and several co-stars recently started a spinoff, In the City.
In a June 18 Instagram post, Kyle shared photos of himself with producers on the last day of filming Summer House season 10.
He then wrote the following caption: “I can’t tell how hard it was to muster up a smile in this photo with my producers. Per usual I was the last to leave the house when we wrapped because I lug so much gear out. But this year was different. 10 seasons in the books. A new show on the way. And a heartbreaking way to end one helluva run.”
“I’m tearing up as I type this because we truly become a family shooting this show and it was a gut wrenching way to leave this house for good,” he said. “I can’t thank these 4 [producers] enough (and the rest of the crew) for giving up their summer to make it all happen. I think we can finally close this chapter.” … Finally, thank you to the fans for believing in this show and for all of your support over the last decade.”
As fans began to speculate that either the show was getting canceled or Kyle was leaving the cast, Kyle added a clarification.
“EDIT! End of Season 10 and a decade of filming this show as I know it. The show isn’t cancelled and this is not me announcing I won’t return,” he said. “I was feeling emo and always planned sharing the cover photo because it DID feel like the end of an era, which is why everyone else was so emotional saying their goodbyes on the finale. Sorry everyone!”
In a video, Kyle shared that his phone “blew up” with texts and phone calls after the post. He apologized for misleading people and said that “cast decisions have yet to be made.” Kyle explained that it’s “the end of the show as I know it” because he spent the last 10 years filming it while in a “relationship” that’s now over.
That same day, a fan called out that Kyle hinted in the bonus episode that he had no idea that West had ever been to his apartment, despite Kyle’s claim that he and West were close friends before the scandal.
“I couldn’t invite ANY friends over for years,” Kyle responded in the comments on Threads, “due to the embarrassing state of our apartment.”

New episodes of In the City air Tuesday nights on Bravo.
