Summer House star Dara Levitan finally confirmed her much-rumored breakup from KJ Dillard in a new podcast episode.

In addition, she also talked a good deal about the show.

“I’m single,” Dara said regarding her split from KJ on her Five More Minutes podcast

“That’s all we’re going to say about it, because I can’t do tears this morning and there’s no way I’m talking about it without crying,” she added.

Later, Dara talked about being on the show and having people criticize you.

She noted she realized she would never like herself from “every angle.”

“I remember talking to my therapist about my greatest fears,” she later said. “They were once criticizing the way I looked and to… calling me boring or whatever, which… both were things that I could live with.”

“I never expected so many of the qualities that I do feel good about myself sometimes to be the things that people questioned,” she continued. “I know that I speak in a way that it might seem performative, also because I am a performer. I’m a theater kid through and through.”

After the reunion, she claimed people acknowledged the way she spoke in a more positive light, which she appreciated.

“I just feel like I grew up in a position where I struggled to feel like I was seen by other people, and I wanted to feel comfortable in these spaces,” she elaborated. “And so when I interact with people, I always make sure I’m trying to be my most authentic self to the point of… probably knowing self-deprecation or trauma dumping. All those things I’m guilty of. But I’ve never considered myself someone that’s… calculated and a lot about my authenticity, but also just sort of – and I know this comes with it – but the ranking, the priorities I have… quote unquote fame.”

Dara insisted she’s not trying to be wealthy but rather trying to look good.

“And because of what we do, there is an outward-facing, and I agreed to that,” she stated. “And everyone who goes on television wants to be famous in some way or another. But I think as it was attached to a man was also so hard to jump from being in a world and being in girlhood, where I spent my 20s getting wrecked by men. Here I am not doing that great today for relationship reasons.”

Dara concluded by noting that “every new positive chapter” in her life “has come from a life-altering, world-shattering breakup.”
