Shep Rose revealed what he almost texted Amanda Batula amid her controversial romance with West Wilson, and he hinted that she shouldn’t return to Summer House next season. He also addressed Kyle Cooke’s rumored romance with Salley Carson, and he teased that his ex, Taylor Ann Green, is back in his life.
After Taylor’s recent split from Gaston Rojas, the star was spotted filming Southern Charm. Meanwhile, Shep’s co-star, Salley, has been spotted with Amanda’s estranged husband, Kyle, as fans speculate that they might be dating.
“I almost texted Amanda,” said Shep on Page Six Radio, “because I like her. I like her. And she’s been nothing but nice to me. And [I almost texted her], ‘Hey, this feels like the weight of the world, but it’s really only important to a fairly small sample size of people out there in the world.'”
Shep then shared why he never sent the text.
“I just didn’t want to insert myself,” he said. “Honestly, if you want the truth, the worst part about being on TV and stuff is the gossip mill.”
He said it would be better if Amanda didn’t come back to Summer House next season.
“I think so,” he said. “And I identify. Every year I’m like, ‘I don’t know [if I can film again].’ And then usually it’s the requisite amount of time, and you’re like, ‘I think I got this.’ Yeah, it’s like a perfect formula.”
Shep was later asked about Kyle and Salley’s potential romance.
“I think that they are friendly, and I guess you’ll have to wait and see a little bit,” he answered. “I think [they’re a good match]. I’m a big yin and yang guy, and I think that they have different approaches to life and things like that. … Last year with Austen and Sally, I was like, ‘That’s not going to work,’ for many reasons.”
At one point, Shep claimed that his ayahuasca trip let him establish a connection again with Taylor.
“You’ve got a lot of time on your hands and your mind is certainly wandering,” said Shep of the hallucinogenic drug, via Us Weekly. “She loved me so much and she cared about me so much and I took it for granted and I care about her and her family very much. … Thankfully, that relationship stayed somewhat connected.”
He said she’s now “a little bit back” in Shep’s life, but he can’t talk too deeply about it (seemingly because they’re filming the new season). But he said he’s “very pleased” they’re in a good place.
“I thought it was [a] gone forever situation, which I’ve never really had before. I’m, at least, on nice terms with my exes,” he explained. “We spent so much good time, so much laughter, so much adventure and intimate moments and lovely things. … It’s hard for me to understand how not to honor that with whether you want to call it nostalgia or what have you.”
