Annemarie Wiley clapped back at NFL player Emmanuel Acho for his “disturbing” response to her domestic violence allegations against husband Marcellus Wiley, a former football player. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star called Emmanuel “sick.”
Back in April, four women accused Marcellus of sexual assault, and Marcellus denied the allegations. Last month, the athlete was arrested on charges of domestic violence after the authorities were given a report that he abused Annemarie. Annemarie filed for divorce as she accused him of rape.
A few weeks ago, per Yahoo! Sports, Emmanuel (a podcaster and sports analyst) called Annemarie “dumb as hell,” claiming she suggested that Marcellus was an “incredible Black man” years after the rape allegations.
On August 3, Annemarie called out the sports analyst and athlete.
“I’m seeing some very disgusting and disturbing things that sick men, like Emmanuel Acho, are saying about me and what has recently happened with my family,” she wrote on Instagram. “Horrible men who have no knowledge of what we go through as women, as mothers, as victims, to protect our children and navigate situations that seem impossible to leave.”
“Let me tell you why women who are victims of domestic violence remain silent… We stay and we normalize and we tolerate and we hide it until we are completely broken,” Annemarie continued. “Please know that when we leave it is always because we had no other choice left. Men, and even their family members like this, – that perpetuate, make excuses for, and enable, abusive men are the very reason women are terrified, shamed, and intimidated into silence.”
Annemarie said her heart goes out to women who have been “affected by domestic violence.”
“Please know that you are not alone,” she said. “You are not weak for staying longer than you should have and for protecting your children the best you knew how. You are not broken… You are resilient. You are strong. You are safe now. And you will rebuild.”
In the caption of the post, Annemarie added, “For those of you who have sent messages checking on me, thank you, and I’m sorry if I haven’t replied. I’m kind of just in my little hole of survival mode. I am doing the best I can to navigate this. My children and I just ask for your prayers 🙏🏽 (Please remember that we are real people with real lives.) God bless ❤️ I pray victims of domestic violence find the strength to speak up, and know that they are not alone, and that they are supported.”
