The biggest scandal on season one of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island was undeniably Rulla Pontarelli‘s husband Brian‘s affair with his alleged mistress Beth Walker.
While there has been a ton of back-and-forth online about the affair, many fans have wondered whether Beth will appear in the second season of the show, which is currently being taped.
An insider exclusively spoke to Reality Blurb to confirm where things stand regarding that.
“Beth can’t appear because they renegotiated their contract,” the source said about Rulla and Brian, “and there were six bullet points, and they were all about her.”
The source noted the bullet points allegedly stipulated that Beth “couldn’t film” and that she would be “escorted out” if she showed up for filming. They also noted that her name “can’t be discussed” and she could not be “added as a friend” of the show.
Aside from that, the source also divulged what really happened on the day of the polo match in season one, when Rulla and Brian showed up and suddenly had to leave because his mother was allegedly sick.
“Beth and Brian had plans the day of the polo match, and he was doing things to appease Rulla so she wouldn’t throw him out,” the insider claimed. “Rulla tried to quit after the polo match, and Bravo came running and asked what they could do to make it work because it (the affair) was a juicy storyline.”
When the cast went to a castle for a trip, Rulla did not go, citing health issues.
The insider insisted she had “basically quit by this point,” but they alleged that the network “came and renegotiated” for Rulla to stay on the show.
Even with the stipulations the insider alleged are in Rulla’s contract, it will be interesting to see if the topic of the “affair” comes up, especially given the back-and-forth that Beth and Rulla had yesterday on Instagram.
