The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul, 32, has been very active on social media amid her copious amounts of drama recently; however, her ex and baby daddy, Dakota Mortensen, 33, has not.

In fact, as someone who typically posted on social media fairly often, he’s been eerily quiet.

Late last night, Dakota finally took to his Instagram Story to break his silence.

“Hey, what’s up, guys?” he began. “First things first, I just wanted to say hello. Second thing… I just would like to say that I don’t… I wouldn’t like to say, I’m going to say, but I actually deleted all of my social media apps for over a month. And what an incredible experience. I mean, like, you know, I… felt like detoxing, okay?”

Dakota noted he’s “been to rehab,” so this “felt like detoxing from drugs.”

“So… it was really good for me,” he continued. “I think I needed that. Like, even if I haven’t been, like, posting anything anyways, really, but like, I think scrolling, even just seeing things. Yeah, like, I don’t know, not super helpful for me and not super helpful for my situation, and I think it was really distracting me from being a dad, being a better person.”

He explained he’s “in a better place right now” despite feeling that no one who follows him may care, but he added he “wanted to share it anyways.”

“That being said, eventually I will talk about things down the road,” he stated. “Um, just not right now. I don’t feel like this is the time to do that. I think I have a lot more important things to focus on, and that is where my energy is. And I will continue to make sure I focus on the things that matter the most right now.”

Dakota also insisted that with social media he doesn’t know “what this is going to be like.”

“I’m going to do it just for fun like I always have, and I feel like if it is mentally not good for me, then I’ll take a break,” he concluded. “I’ll be gone. I will be so far gone you’ll never see me again. For the people that that’s a dream come true, you’re welcome. God bless.”

While this was Dakota’s first time on social media in a while, photos of him and Shinia Powell kissing were recently shared on her social media, clearly suggesting he’s moved on from Taylor.
