Taylor Frankie Paul posted a video of her “cherished” letters, and one of them was from her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.
Amid their messy custody battle over their two-year-old son, Ever, which recently erupted with an abuse investigation by Utah’s Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS), the 32-year-old Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star took to her Instagram account, where a letter from Dakota, 33, was shared, along with several other messages from her fans and supporters.
“This type of sh*t is what [I] cherish the most,” Taylor wrote in a message shared with the July 27 video, also adding a caption that read, “This is my type of rich and putting them in a binder like a book brings me joy. And yes I’m aware of my typo.”
In the letter from Dakota, Taylor’s ex, whom she’s accused of abuse on numerous occasions, he told her she had a “heart of gold” as he apologized for the hurt he’d caused her.
“Dear Taylor, I love you with all my heart. I just wanted to give you some flowers and let you know how amazing you are and that one day everything you have gone through will make sense. You are a great mother and an incredible person with a heart of gold. Don’t ever forget your gifts and the love your father in heaven has for you. You are so resilient and you can and will make out and be on [fire]. I’m sorry for the pain I’ve caused you … Just realize no matter what happens between us you will always have my heart,” he wrote, in part, adding, “I love you!!! More than you will ever know!!”

Following the sharing of the post, fans admitted to feeling confused as they questioned the timing of the post, which came just days after a report claimed Dakota was officially dating Shinia Powell, 29.
“Not you posting a ‘cherished’ love letter from the person you claim ‘abused you’ we all know you just want Shinia to see a love letter from Dakota,” one person suspected.
“I’m confused by the handwritten letter from Dakota,” shared another.
“At the end of the day, the day has got to end. Throw the Dakota letters away. Let it go for rill. Kids don’t need to see those letters later on,” added a third.
After facing backlash, Taylor responded to one fan in a message that seems to have since been deleted.
“Why do you have a letter from Dakota displayed? You said he was evil and the devil.. don’t keep his energy around to make you feel negative[.] Or does it bring back the nice memories[?]” someone asked, via a screenshot shared on Reddit.
“I keep all letters from all people kinda like a diary of that time,” Taylor replied.
Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season five is expected to premiere later this year.
