Yesterday, it was reported that The Valley star Brittany Cartwright was granted a restraining order against her ex, Jax Taylor.
The restraining order was given to Brittany, 37, after allegations that Jax, 47, physically attacked her, stalked her, and threatened to “gut” her.
Jax’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan issued a response to TMZ, insisting Brittany’s trying to ruin him.
Specifically, he said Brittany’s filing is her trying to “weaponize the internet” against Jax and disturb his peace, ruin his career, and destroy financial opportunities for him. He also explicitly stated that Jax “categorically disputes” several claims Brittany has made and that Jax has extensive evidence and communications that will tell “a very different story” when they appear before a judge.
His lawyer also pointed out that Brittany’s allegations were regarding things that occurred two years ago, noting she never filed police reports or pursued criminal charges at that time. Due to this, he questioned the timing of her restraining order filing.
Similarly, Mark stated that Brittany’s claims only arose after Jax began gathering evidence about her alleged behavior, including concerns Jax has over the care of their 5-year-old son Cruz Cauchi, while he’s in Brittany’s custody, and alleged repeated attempts Brittany has made to interfere with Jax’s ability to make money.
Apparently, Brittany is aware of the evidence Jax plans to present in court, and Mark insisted Jax will not litigate the case through headlines and selective allegations.
Finally, Mark told the outlet Jax has only seen Brittany once in person over the past six months as evidence of how little contact the estranged pair have had.
Mark’s response comes fresh on the heels of even more allegations Brittany made against Jax coming to the surface.
In a motion from August 27 that Us Weekly obtained, Brittany shared details of a school orientation for Cruz she and Jax attended around August 10.
“Jax became visibly aggressive and hostile towards me during the orientation in front of others and called me ‘gross,’” she stated in court documents, claiming Cruz’s nanny and future school administrators were also there. “I started recording him to document his behavior. His behavior at the orientation made everyone rather uncomfortable.”
She added he “has a tendency of not being able to control his anger and emotions.”
TMZ also obtained transcripts of video recordings Brittany has of Jax allegedly berating her.
“I don’t need that s*it. I want a confident f*cking skinny-ass bitch that’s gonna f*cking walk around and be like, ‘Yeah, go ahead, do what you wanna do.’ I don’t need some f*cking little b*tch that’s going to be crying,” Jax allegedly said to her in one video from April 2017.
“Grow the f*ck up, dude,” the transcript continued. ” Stop f*cking eating, go to the damn gym. Be [a] skinny girl that’s on TV, not a f*cking fat bitch. Stop watching f*cking TV all day … You should’ve been at the gym with me all day. I make money, I go to the f*cking gym. The f*ck is your problem? Why can’t you go?”
Later, in the same clip, he allegedly said, “You have nothing! Go back to your f*cking Kentucky house. I don’t give a s*it. Leave. Please go back to Kentucky, drunk ass b*tch.”
When Brittany asked Jax if he was really speaking to her like that, he replied, “I’m tired of your f*cking b*tch a*s s*it. I’m tired, I don’t want a girlfriend. I don’t. I don’t. I’m either going to break up with you now, or I’ll break up with you on TV, your choice.”
Jax also reportedly brought up some of Brittany’s costars, accusing her of not being as successful as them.
“Ariana [Madix], Katie [Maloney]… they all do something, and they’re rich as f*ck. They do something every day. What do you do? Sit around, just get bigger. That’s all you do.”
At this point in time, Jax and Brittany remain in the throes of a bitter divorce.
