Below Deck Med star Kat Johnston suggested that Cooper Dawson misled fans on Watch What Happens Live about their status in order to “save himself,” as she shared that they’re on “zero talking terms.” She also shared why she doesn’t want to film a reunion.
In the season, Cooper convinced Kat to keep their romance a secret from the rest of the cast (and to seemingly fake their breakup so he wouldn’t have to keep talking about it). Some fans were shocked by Cooper’s treatment of Kat, who chose to trust him at the time.
But on a recent episode of WWHL, Cooper seemed to suggest that he and Kat were on good terms, leading some to believe they were even still together. But when Kat was interviewed in a later episode of WWHL, she denied that they were together.
On It’s So Bad It’s Good with Ryan Bailey, Kat was asked if she was confused by Cooper’s responses on WWHL.
“No, he’s just doing this to save himself,” she said. “And just to pretend that we are on really good terms.”
When asked if Cooper has reached out since the WWHL interview, Kat answered, “No, we have not talked. We are on zero talking terms.” As for the idea that Below Deck Med‘s new season needs a reunion, Kat expressed, “No! That would be so awkward. Please [no].”
Last week, in a social media video, Kat confirmed that she and Cooper were over.
“Yeah, me and Cooper are definitely not together,” she stated at the time. “The [recent] episode was really, really hard to watch. … It’s been so long since this has happened. So, I honestly, it’s like, I forgive him. … I won’t forget it, but I forgive him.”
“And I was kind of like waiting [till WWHL] to say [that we’re not dating],” she added. “I am very, very, very much single. I’ve been single for a while. And I’m single for a reason. Me and Cooper aren’t together for a reason.”
