Don’t Be Tardy alum Kim Zolciak‘s 15-year-old son Kroy “KJ” Jagger Biermann has been dealing with the aftermath of being arrested after being indicted on seven felony charges related to an alleged sexual assault.
While an arraignment is scheduled for October, KJ was dealt a legal setback in his case today.
According to a report from Page Six, KJ requested to have the courtroom closed, but the request was denied.
Superior Court Judge Melynee Leftridge, from the Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia, was the one who denied the motion after she found “that the high legal standard for permitting a closed courtroom was not met by Defendant,” court documents stated.
The court did grant a motion KJ requested to limit photo and video recording by the media strictly to what is required to comply with the court’s protective measures.
Judge Leftridge also granted protections regarding KJ’s juvenile court records, ordering that they “shall be filed under seal.”
Finally, the judge denied KJ’s request that prosecutors be limited in presenting information from his juvenile court case they deem pertinent to the court’s consideration of his bond.
Yesterday, according to TMZ, prosecutors filed emergency court documents in KJ’s criminal case.
Specifically, the outlet reported on a court docket in which prosecutors filed a motion asking the court to have interviews of “minor children” ordered.
While they didn’t provide further details, TMZ said forensic interviews are conducted by professionals and that the information prosecutors obtain would be used in the case.
As was previously reported, the charges KJ was indicted on included aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment, and three counts of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16.
While his bond was granted at $200,000, a release date has not yet been given.
