Chef Joy Lefaucheur shared where she stands today with Luke Brumer after the dramatic season finale of Below Deck Mediterranean, as she revealed her relationship status.
At the start of the season, Luke was flirting hard with Joy, but things ended when he slept with stew Gen Lillie. But immediately after sleeping with Gen, Luke told Gen he wasn’t, and he decided again to pursue Joy (who was no longer interested). But Joy’s feelings toward Luke seemed to soften after he quit the season, and they continued to text.
In the finale, on the cast’s night out, Luke showed up to the dismay of Gen, who threw a drink at him. Though Joy was flattered that he came to see her, she felt bad for Gen, so she reached out to her to console her. Luke then left after he saw that the women were getting along. But later on, Joy and Luke had a phone call about going on a date in Dubrovnik.
In a recent interview with Bravo Insider, Joy shared that she “spoke a little” with Luke after the season ended, but they’re not dating.
“I don’t have anything against him as long as he speaks highly about me,” said the chef. “I do the same … I don’t have any bad feelings against Gen [Lillie] or Luke.”
In an August episode of Watch What Happens Live, when Luke was asked if they’ve stayed in touch since filming ended, he answered at the time, “Yes. It’s great. … It’s been colorful and fun and a bit of everything.”
As for her relationship status, Joy told Bravo Insider that she’s single.
“I took a break from dating after everything that happened, and I’m more focused on myself,” she said. “I think it’s good, because all the energy that I was putting on men, I’m putting back on me, and it’s great.”
Joy said she’s “less anxious” and “more calm” because of it.
In his August 3 interview on WWHL, Luke hinted that he started dating someone new following his time on the season. Though he didn’t share much, he revealed that his new girlfriend isn’t in the yachting industry, and she’s been keeping up with season 11 of Below Deck Med.
