Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards‘ children have been in the spotlight for quite some time now.
Aside from making occasional appearances on RHOBH, three of them also appeared on the Netflix show Buying Beverly Hills.
Alexia Umansky is currently starring on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test and, while filming, she opened up about being sexually assaulted to her father, Mauricio Umansky.
On last night’s episode of the show, Alexia, 30, told the directing staff she wanted to show she had “courage” after what she’d endured.
When pressed for what she meant, Alexia stated, “Seven years ago, I was on a trip with some friends, and I was with people I trust. I was put to bed because I had a little too much to drink. And I woke up, and I could tell something had happened.”
She noted she “didn’t even have the power or consciousness to say no” to the person who assaulted her.
“I felt completely objectified,” Alexia continued. “And I had a lot of pain and anger because of that. At the one-year mark, I decided that happiness is a choice, and I was gonna choose to put it away. But it still hurts.”
In a confessional, she shared she was “taken advantage of” and that her family was unaware of it even to this day.
“When you bring other people into it, it just becomes more of a conversation,” she elaborated. “And maybe a conversation is what I needed. But I just wasn’t ready.”
Alexia ended up speaking to Mauricio, 56, about it in front of other cast members.
“You don’t know [this]. I was taken advantage of by a friend,” she told her father. “You guys not knowing is not anything I ever wanted you to know, but I kind of wanted to protect you guys from.”
Mauricio told his daughter she shouldn’t have felt the need to shield them when she was going through such a traumatic situation.
“Once you bring it to other people, it’s hard to… it’s not just yours,” she added. “I feel like it’s not just your own concern, you know? It just becomes everyone else’s concern. But I have definitely healed. I’ve come a long way since then.”
Mauricio made sure to tell Alexia that he loved her as the conversation wrapped up.
Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test airs Thursdays on Fox at 9 p.m. ET.
