Erika Hammond revealed Erin Lichy’s recent “fake apology” text after shading her family’s private island on Real Housewives of New York City, as she reacted to Erin’s claim that it’s a “rental.” Plus, Erika addressed whether they’re actually friends.
On the cast trip, Erika let her co-stars stay at her family’s home on a private island, which is shared by a small group of owners. But when they arrived, Erin complained that she was put on a pull-out bed, and she suggested that the whole place wasn’t that great. Some fans were shocked by Erin’s comments, and they felt that she was being unappreciative.
At the recent VRT Awards, Erin claimed that the private island is “like a rental home,” as Erin again shaded how she slept on a “pull-out” bed. Though the star admitted that it’s a “gorgeous island,” Erin said she was “pissed” at Erika for putting her on a “cot.”
On Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea, Erika revealed Erin’s recent text, which was sent before her comments at the VRT Awards.
“She actually sent me a text recently and apologized right after the show came out,” said Erika. “But then I heard she was talking about how [the island] was an Airbnb. … And I was like, that was a fake apology. I don’t like fake apologies. … We do rent, but it is a home. It is an estate.”
Erika also addressed how she thinks Erin would not consider her a New Yorker, even though Erika’s lived there for 10 years.
“I am a New Yorker now. I don’t think Erin would say I am. She says, unless you’re born here, you’re not a New Yorker,” said Erika. “But my other friends that are born in New York have told me, after 10 years, you’re a New Yorker. I ride and die. I don’t want to go anywhere else.”
Erika was then asked if she considers Erin a friend.
“Uh… Y-yeah,” she answered hesitantly. “I mean, after seeing that scene, it was really tough. It was hard.”
