Real Housewives of Orange County stars Vicki Gunvalson and Shannon Beador have been good friends for quite a long time.
After Vicki, 64, talked about the financial status of Shannon, 62, in a public forum, their relationship was dissected on the Real Housewives of Orange County After Show podcast.
A flashback to a scene on RHOC was shown where Tamra Judge asked Vicki if she was super close with Shannon and talked to her all the time.
“Not all the time,” Vicki said. “But I’m close with Shannon. I’m not enemies with her.”
“Well, I mean, I’m not going to lie, to hear that Vicki [chuckles] to describe her friendship with me, that’s hurtful. My answer wouldn’t be that,” Shannon said on the podcast in response to Vicki’s comment about their supposed “unbalanced” friendship. “Last night I DoorDash’d her a COVID test, and I FaceTimed her, walked out of a restaurant to make sure she was doing the test properly. Yeah, I don’t know. It is what it is.”
“I don’t think Shannon and my friendship changed at all,” Vicki insisted. “She lives in Newport, I live in Coto, we’re about a half hour apart. That doesn’t bother me. We go to the same hair place, we go to the same nail place. I connected her with my bookkeeper, so she’s following my lead on that, and she respects me, and so we have a really nice relationship.”
The topic of Vicki discussing Shannon’s finances on Jeff Lewis‘ SiriusXM radio show then came up.
While Vicki noted she “always” talks to Jeff, 56, about Shannon as he “wants her to buy a home as well,” Shannon had a different take.
“Why are you discussing my financial situation in public?” Shannon questioned on the After Show podcast. “It’s not Vicki’s business to discuss it on a radio show, for goodness sakes.”
RHOC newbie Carmella Garcia also piped in to share her disdain for how Vicki treats Shannon.
“I can’t stand how she treats Shannon,” Carmella, 44, said. “I don’t like it; it drives me crazy. Shannon is such a beautiful human being. You should be saying nice, positive things about your friend because you love them. You do not cut your friends down.”
“I don’t think Vicki’s hiding it,” Gina Kirschenheiter, 42, added. “So she’s showing you what you mean to her. Shame on Shannon if she doesn’t make a change there.”
Vicki and Shannon have not yet made further comments regarding their friendship.
