The seventh season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is currently airing.
While there has been sadness due to the heartbreaking death of Mary Cosby‘s son, there’s also been a lot of drama and levity.
Recently, Heather Gay, 52, sat down for some interviews to discuss her relationship with Lisa Barlow, 51, what’s still to come on the season, and what it was like filming amid the aforementioned tragedy.
When asked where she and Lisa stand today on the Pause Rewind Play podcast, Heather shared, “I mean, we just fight and are friends at the same time in a revolving globe of glass and fire. I don’t know how to explain it differently… we ended great. I know my relationship with Lisa, and I don’t wish her any ill will at all, but it’s just always going to be banter with us forevermore.”
“I think we’re the best we’ve ever been,” she elaborated. “We have history. I think there is a level of trust that I broke a little bit on Ultimate Girls Trip, like an unspoken code where we… weren’t unnecessarily mean, but… we ended great. So let’s see. Just stay tuned. I just never know… I can say something right now that could change everything forever… they’re always listening to us. Just don’t come for me, man. I’m just happy in love. I just want to live a good life and write books and, you know, ride motorcycles.”

As for the season as a whole, Heather noted it “started out so differently” than any other because the tragic death “put things in perspective” for the cast.
“But then, you know, we got right back into it pretty quickly, and I think viewers should buckle up because there’s a lot more ups and downs to come,” she noted.
As for what she’s excited for fans to see as the season continues, Heather shared that she never knows what fans will actually see, since she knows what she’s filmed but not what will air.
“I mean, I don’t think the fans are going to be excited to see the expansion of Beauty Lab, but that was fun ’cause Trip did the construction and, you know, he was the general contractor for all of it. I think that the dynamics shift a lot. There’s a lot of fights that we didn’t see coming, and there’s a lot of repair that we had to do to keep it together as a group.”
On the Untraditionally Lala podcast, Heather also talked about the current season.
“First, we weren’t sure we were going to have a season,” she noted due to Mary’s son passing away. “Everything with Mary and Robert Jr. happened right the night before cameras were up. It flipped the script.”

“We had left Season six totally contentious, at each other’s throats, very divided, more divided than we’d been,” she added. “This tragedy just kind of flipped the script immediately, and the first thing that Mary said was the show must go on. She gave us permission to be ourselves, and we followed her lead, and I think that’s what saved the season.”
New episodes of RHOSLC air every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
