Kathryn Dennis was convicted and sentenced to jail on Friday, over a year after she was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a multi-vehicle car accident.
After being accused of driving under the influence after the three-car collision near US Highway 52 and Stephanie Drive in Goose Creek, South Carolina, on May 20, 2024, the 34-year-old Southern Charm alum was ordered to 30 days at the Berkeley County jail.

At the time of Kathryn’s accident, it was noted that witnesses had told police they smelled alcohol on her. And, when officers approached the ex-reality star, they observed that she had glossy eyes. It was then revealed that Kathryn had an unopened mini-Fireball bottle on the driver’s side of her car, along with an empty pink tumbler, and that officers also smelled alcohol on her.
While she initially denied having consumed alcohol or taken any drugs, prescription or otherwise, Kathryn later admitted at the precinct that she had drunk alcohol, but insisted it was “way earlier” in the day.
Following her arrest, Kathryn, who shares two children with Thomas Ravenel, 63, was seen in shocking dashcam footage, experiencing a complete meltdown.
“I was in a horrible car accident, and now I’m being arrested? What? This is crazy!” Kathryn exclaimed, proceeding to blame Thomas, who was granted full custody of Kensington, 11, and son Saint Julien, 9, in 2023, for ruining her life.
Kathryn then suggested that in arresting her, the police were doing a disservice to her children.
“It’s really messed up for you guys to take people in, though, whenever they have kids because it could really affect their children’s lives,” she stated.
Also in the footage, Kathryn accused one of the police officers of treating her like “an animal.”
“Get out of my face. Why are you so close to me? Why are you so close to me? You’re disgusting! You’re gross! Don’t touch me like that!” she screamed as she threatened to “sue the sh*t out of [him].”
“You already touched me inappropriately. F*cking disgusting man,“ she added.
