Jenna Lyons is leaving the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City after starring on the Bravo reality series for two seasons.
Ahead of its upcoming 16th season, the 57-year-old fashionista took to her Instagram page, where she shared a photo of herself and her castmates and confirmed she would not be returning to the show for its future episodes.
“The rumors ….. Are true …. So here’s the backstory,” Jenna began on November 21.
“I was grateful to be asked to join season 16 of RHONY ‘as a friend of’ – knowing my personal life was not really available to be filmed, we agreed that made sense,” she explained, seemingly citing her super-private romance with Cass Bird, 51.
“And after thinking it through I have made the difficult decision not return to the show … I would be the oldest and only openly gay woman on the show and feel like this is an opportunity for a new dynamic to emerge,” she stated.
Jenna went on to say she “[loves]” her former castmates, tagging Erin Lichy, 38, Jessel Taank, 46, Sai De Silva, 44, Ubah Hassan, 42, and Racquel Chevremont, 54, but failing to mention Brynn Whitfield, 39, who announced her departure earlier this year.
“I have so much respect and gratitude to the Entire BRAVO team who produced the show with grace and care … I am so grateful to [Andy Cohen] for the opportunity and support … I am grateful to Sezin for always treating us with so much respect and kindness … I am grateful to the entire team at SHED who handled all of our nonsense and egos with patience … And most importantly to all the fans who have said hi on the street, asked for a photo, supported me here on Instagram,” Jenna declared.
“THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!- it’s so incredibly meaningful,” she added. “I will be watching and b*tching from the sidelines with love and outfit judgement.”

As fans may have seen over the weekend, Andy, 57, addressed the future season of RHONY during a chat panel, telling the audience that when it comes to getting a cast locked in for the new episodes, “We’re close.”
Andy then denied recent rumors, which have suggested that season 16 would be made up of a combination of returning members from season 15 and OGs of the long-running series.
“No. Not true,” he stated.
