Shep Rose and the Southern Charm cast are back for the show’s 11th season on Bravo. Now, he’s opening up about where he stands with former cast member Cameron Eubanks and revealing that he wrote a second memoir.

Regarding Shep’s writing career, he published his first book, Average Expectations: Lessons in Lowering the Bar, in 2021. In it, he offered personal anecdotes and life lessons in the form of essays and travel stories. Gallery Books, a subsidiary of Simon & Schuster, published it.

Both Shep and Cameron were original cast members on Southern Charm. However, she left the show in 2020. Shep told Bravo’s The Daily Dish that he and Cameron still speak and that they were in touch when he was on his way to New York for press.

He said, “We were texting on the way up here. And I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m headed to New York.’ And she’s like, ‘Oh, I’ll be there next week.’ And when she said, ‘I’ll be there,’ I thought, ‘Oh my god. What if she rang the doorbell on Watch What Happens Live?'”

From there, Shep said he could only imagine the reaction to Cameron appearing on Watch What Happens Live. He went on to call her “America’s sweetheart.” The two, who were friends before Southern Charm, have remained in contact throughout her time away from the show. He confirmed in 2023 that she gives him life advice.

The Southern Charm star explained at the time, “Cameran — we text, we sometimes call each other. I owe her a phone call ’cause I have to ask her a question. She’s my little Yoda sometimes.”

Shep also spoke to Bravo about his next venture: his second book, It’s Nothing in Moderation, a Psychedelic Reckoning with Excess. He said, “It’s being edited, and it’ll come out this spring.” According to him, the book is about him “going to do ayahuasca.”

That’s not all. Shep also has an upcoming project with Southern Charm star Whitney Sudler-Smith. He revealed, “I’m working on something else with Whitney. Filming some fun things; just like, shenanigans.” Whitney has said they’re teaming up for an adventure show.

Southern Charm airs on Wednesday nights on Bravo.
