Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Cosby Jr., has been released from the Salt Lake County Metro Jail.
As his divorce from his former wife, Alexiana Arian Smokoff, was finalized, and she was granted a permanent no-contact order against him, the 23-year-old’s attorney, Clayton Simms, said that the two months Robert Jr. spent behind bars served as “a blessing.”
“It allowed him to sober up and start thinking clearly. He’s looking forward to doing positive things. The difficulty is that he was slow to recognize the dissolution of his marriage. But now he understands the relationship is over, and he’s moving forward,” Clayton told Page Six on February 4, confirming Robert Jr., who Mary shares with husband Robert Cosby Sr., was released from incarceration on Tuesday.
Following his release, Robert Jr. was sentenced to 24 months of probation, which includes 75 hours of community service, anger management classes, and substance abuse classes, and Alexiana was granted a permanent no-contact order.
As RHOSLC fans may recall, Robert Jr. was arrested on November 9, 2025, after showing up at Alexiana’s home, which violated a pretrial order. Before that, he was taken into custody for an apparent fight at the same home.
After Alexiana filed for divorce in November 2025, after three years of marriage, Robert Jr. pled guilty to eight of the 14 charges he was facing, which included two counts of violation of a pretrial protective order and one count of assault on a peace officer.
As for his divorce, Us Weekly confirmed on February 2 that his split from Alexiana was finalized on January 14 after a court hearing.
At the hearing, which Robert Jr. did not attend, a judge granted Alexiana a default divorce decree as it was noted that the couple had no kids or marital property. It was also revealed that neither party would be granted alimony since they were each capable of earning their own money, and Robert was ordered to pay Alexiana’s legal fees.
