Bronwyn Newport and her estranged husband, Todd Bradley, have a “tricky” dynamic since separating in December.

Amid her new romance with boyfriend Brandon Good, 32, and after Todd, 66, was spotted out in New York City with a mystery woman, the 40-year-old Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star spoke to Kelly Ripa, 55, about her future with Todd, admitting that while she’d love for them to “be together,” she currently needs “space.”

“Todd and I are tricky. We’ve been together for a long time,” Bronwyn explained on the February 11 episode of SiriusXM’s Let’s Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa podcast, via Us Weekly. “I do really love Todd.”

According to Bronwyn, she and Todd faced more storms over the “last year, specifically,” than they were prepared for, including her mom getting sick, her dad dying, and her 40th birthday.

“I woke up tired,” Bronwyn noted of the lightbulb moment of the milestone year. “[I thought,] ‘I don’t want to go around and around and around again.’”

Bronwyn and Todd were on shaky ground amid season six, and having to “rewatch the arguments” didn’t help.

“ Todd and I are separated, and it’s very difficult because our lives are so intertwined and so intermeshed after all this time together,” Bronwyn continued. “And I hear him saying to me since I’ve asked for that separation that he wants to understand and he wants to do different[ly] and he wants to make it right, and there is a huge part of me that wants that for him.”

Not only does Bronwyn not want to see Todd “hurt,” but she also would like to see them reconcile.

“I do want us to be together. I’d love to just smooth it over and move forward,” she revealed. “There’s also a part of me that feels like some things you shouldn’t have to explain, some things you shouldn’t have to ask for. Some things should be, like, innately understood in such a close relationship.”

Because she doesn’t “know” what’s to come, Bronwyn suspected that their relationship is hard for Todd to navigate.

“I think I’m being very difficult for Todd right now because I don’t know what I want next,” she explained. “I think I just want some space and some time to think about it … He would like to go back to how close and happy we were and he’s willing to make some changes to get there … But I feel like as a 40-year-old woman that I don’t wanna have to tell someone how to fix things with me.”

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season seven is expected to go into production sometime early this year.
