The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season seven has been postponed following the tragic death of Mary Cosby‘s 23-year-old son, Robert Cosby Jr.
Days after Robert Jr. was found dead in Utah after a long battle with substance abuse issues, sources close to the show have confirmed that while the Bravo reality series was in pre-production, Mary, 53, was not filming at the time and isn’t expected to get back in front of the cameras for some time.
According to a February 25 report from TMZ, filming on season seven was expected to begin this week, but has since been delayed to an unknown date amid the news of Robert Jr.’s passing.
As RHOSLC fans may have heard, fire officials and paramedics were dispatched on Monday night after receiving a call about a man who was in “full arrest” and suffering from a “medical emergency.” Sadly, Robert Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.
In the months leading up to his death, Robert Jr. faced a divorce filing from his former wife, Alexiana Arian Smokoff, and was arrested several times for charges including trespassing at her family’s home and assault.
Following the news of Robert Jr.’s passing, Andy Cohen, 57, took to Threads, where he shared a statement of love to Mary and her husband, Robert Cosby Sr.
“Devastatingly sad news out of SLC. This is every parent’s worst nightmare. My heart is broken for Mary, and I am sending all my love to her and Robert Sr.,” he wrote.

Mary Cosby and her family have been featured throughout all six seasons of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
