Alicia Carmody’s stepmother, Sharon Carmody, is speaking out, denying the Real Housewives of Rhode Island cast member’s claim of having been homeless as a child.

Amid Alicia’s feud with Liz McGraw, 55, who attempted to set the record straight, Sharon, who was married to Alicia’s dad Thomas Carmody, is shooting down the idea that Liz, 42, ever had nowhere to live, while also defending Liz’s decision to call her out and addressing Alicia’s parents’ divorce.

“You were never homeless. You’ve never struggled one day in your life. Not one day in your life have you struggled,” Sharon declared on Nora Christine Live. “Liz, I think, did what she did because she didn’t want all of this to come out. She was trying to warn Alicia, ‘Alicia, you keep saying this and saying this and saying this, I don’t ever remember you being homeless.’”

Sharon also noted that Jo-Ellen Tiberi’s husband, Gary Tiberi, 41, said Alicia “was never homeless.”

“There’s six sisters. How could somebody be homeless?” she asked.

Continuing on during another segment of the interview, Sharon confirmed, “They had a home.”

She then explained that Alicia likely claimed to have been homeless due to a brief relocation amid a renovation.

“My husband was young. My husband is not [a] mow-the-grass, paint-the-house type of guy. He’s not. And [Alicia’s mom] knew that when she married him. He’s not that kind of guy,” she shared.

According to Sharon, Alicia and her sisters are like a “cult.”

“That family, like, the sisters all come over. They all have to join in. They all have to pick out the paint for the windows and the tile for the floor, and he just got fed up [and] sold the house. They sold the house, and the couch-surfing part is because the house they lived, [where] they lived on Amy Drive, which was a gorgeous home that they rented, that he wanted to buy, it got sold out from under him.”

“So before they remodeled the downstairs, she wanted to go live — her mother wanted to go live with a friend of theirs while they were remodeling the downstairs,” she noted.

As for the reason for Alicia’s parents’ divorce, Sharon explained, “They didn’t get along.”

The Real Housewives of Rhode Island season one airs Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
